About us

 

I have had a love of both contemporary and classic cars ( and motorcycles ) since before leaving school in 1958 aged fifteen.

On leaving school I went into the motor trade to train as a mechanic and worked at two local garages ( BMC and Ford ) finishing up as workshop foreman. At the Ford garage in Welwyn Garden City where I worked, the owner's son raced a Marcos GT & then an Elan 26R. The cars were prepared in our workshops. 

I then established Ranscombe Sports Cars in 1966 in Stevenage Old Town and we were appointed as Lotus Service Agents in the early nineteen seventies. ( Ref. home page ) We serviced and sold Lotus Cars for some six years. Other makes were catered for and we built up a strong customer base.

A transport business was established in the nineteen eighties and ran for some fifteen years. ( Ref. home page ) 

I have worked in the motor trade and transport all my working life.

 

A strong interest in Lotus cars from the 60s & 70s has resurfaced and we are begining to stock the odd car & a limited range of spare parts. We will be increasing our spares stock in the future
